Schecter Guitar Research was born in 1976 in Van Nuys, California - a repair shop owned and run by David Schecter offering spare parts for the big guitar brands of the day.  3 years later, the first fully assembled Schecter guitar was made and sold and, only 4 years after that the guitars were so popular, that the custom shop couldn't keep up!

The company has grown ever since in popularity and renown, not just among rock and metal circles, with the guitars and basses helping to shape the albums and live sounds for artists as diverse as Mary J Blige, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, First Aid Kit, Avenged Sevenfold, Lady GaGa, Body Count, Disturbed, and many others.  In fact, it was Schecter that re-created Prince's famous 'Symbol' guitar.

Today, Schecter Guitars continue to enjoy an enviable reputation for build quality, sound, playability and innovation, with a massive range of guitars covering everything from traditional shapes and sounds to edgy instruments for extreme music, whether you're just starting or setting out on your next world tour.
